Where/how can I try different types of headphones?

I realize that there are many, many different types of people on these forums who have tried different types of headphones depending on their preferences and ease of attainment. While many people have told me their personal recommendation, I always have to take it with a grain of salt because I know at they have their own tastes and haven't listened to every pair ever made.

To put it briefly, where/how can I find different types of headphones to try? Is there a headphone marketplacele? An earspeaker superstore? Some other way of trying  few pairs?

I live in Northern New Jersey, if that helps.

Thanks, as always, for being such a friendly crowd :)

Hello!

Maybe you can try searching around your local headphones store! there are some who allow you to demo what they sale~ For me, just since I am choosing a pair of headphone and to buy it, I just head to the store that sells headphones that I heard they suit my style XD There are more than 200 types of headphone to choose from so why not XD

There are some mid-end headphones in bestbuy.

Some people just take advantage of Amazon's free return policy...

You could try J&R. It's in NYC; a few blocks away from City Hall.

Any other stores that I should know about? I've read some online reviews of J&R and they're a little mixed.
