Don't know what do buy

hi, I'm fairly new here and I was just wondering if anyone could help me decide what I should buy? I have narroved it down to these candidates:

Sennheiser momentum
Sennheiser hd650
V-moda m-100
Grado 225i

I mainly listen to Rock/metal and was wondering witch one would e the best for that genre. If anyone has any better suggestions that would be great (price is not important)

Please help

Why those four in particular? They're all over the place.

I searched around and got these after reading some reviews. I don't really know much about headphones in general.

Ah, sorry for being a bit blunt. What I meant was, yes all of them are great headphones (head-fi favorites, actually) but that list makes it very difficult to gauge what you're looking for - one is portable, one is for bassheads, two are open-back (will leak sound/no noise reduction), one requires amping, etc.

It would be helpful if you could give us some parameters of what you need: portability, open/closed, budget, source (phone? desktop? amp?) and so on.

Agreed.

Your equipment setup is pretty important. It might be better to put part of your budget towards a better amp or DAC.

Uhm preffeably closed, budget is 500 dollars, but since that other person said I should make room for an amp then I guess..that would be nice. I mostly use idevises, but I might buy an amp.
I would just use it at home but I would not like to disturb anyone there with my loud music.

Ultrasone Pro 900 anyone?

I've never personally listened to them, but I heard they do all genres quite well.

I have the SR225i, and they are hard to beat at their price point for rock and metal. Great guitar rendition and very big soundstage. They are open headphones, so people can hear what you are listening to. It won't be very loud to them. The bigger effect of open headphones is that you will want to use them in a quiet room so that the noise in the room won't interfere with your listening. The SR225i are also very easy to drive and will sound very good on an iPod or iPhone without an amp.
