I am looking for a very small transport for use at a desk with a Sostenuto-1 PDAC (so optical or coax out is fine). Right now I am leaning towards a portable cd player route since they are cheap and easy. One of my concerns is usability. I want something easy to use with decent sized buttons...and LCD on the unit would be icing on the cake. Any reccomendations that include a digital output that I could hook up to the PDAC? Also considering a very small transport like the CAL Delta but I've heard some not so nice things and am hesitant about buying an old product with no support.

Anyone try using a portable DVD player for this? Thinking that might be cool so I can listen to DVD's through my system as well. For $250 this APEX portable w/ 6.5" screen and optical out looks interesting:
