Amps/Dacs for non-lossy audio

Thread Starter

I'm new to the forum and have tried several searches for material on this, can someone point me in the right direction?

I listen to an iPod Classic (sometimes MBP) and right now I'm using PortaPros and will soon be trying the XBA3s that were on sale at BestBuy. 99% of my audio is high bitrate mp3s, very few songs are in any sort of lossless format.

So. Would an amp like an E11 or DAC E11 benefit me if I want a better audio experience. I'm trying not to buy up a bunch of new stuff because I'm geeked out over hi-fi, but if its something that will be an eye-opener, I am more than willing.

Thank you for your help!

The Porta Pros will not benefit so much from the E11 like the XBA3. The reason is your IPod classic has a higher output impedance than the E11. So with multi BA IEM like the XBA3 take allways the external amp.
