The X5 already supports 128GB mSD cards.

Yes I was referring to the OTG USB storage device posted a few threads back though. It says it can handle up to 64GB currently, but I'm wondering if it could hold 128 GB cards too. That would allow for 384 GB total on the X5 if so.

For $12+ shipping it's worth the gamble to try. It's extremely hard for me to get a 128GB MicroSD card shipped to Canada for a reasonable price (as opposed to US) so I won't be able to test it until that changes. HOWEVER from what I understand as long as a device supports SDXC and has firmware support for 128GB cards, it should work in theory. Don't quote me on that but for the low price of this adapter, we might find out soon if someone wants to try =)

Thanks, yeah for $12 (plus shipping) it's definately worth it to try. I've actually already got a filled 64GB card I can use with it, but if it does support 128 GB I will buy another and be able to carry my entire hi-res library with me and still have almost 80 more GB to use! Will have to wait and see if other's confirm it handles 128 GB before ordering another 128 GB card though.

Yes, definitely think there is a change in tone with the patch cable from the HS6, even over the other cable I was using (that used to be my reference cable on my Headroom MicroDac / MicroAmp)...

I may well be waxing lyrical here, and will one day eat my own words, however for virtually exactly £1,000 (X5, HS6, E12, Senn IE800) - I cannot believe you will find a better sounding setup, or anything even that close...  Great synergy, I swear moreso than with the HiFi M8 (which is already £200 more, and without a source!!), which I personally cannot understand...

Hats off to the FiiO team, personal experience started off a little rocky with the E7, but as my exposure has increased (E9, E11, E17, then up to date, E12, and X5 - in that order), my smile has gotten broader and broader - I can already see me signing up for an X7...

All I hope for now is a fix for library and OTG SSD functionality...

[Edit: - To give an idea of how engrossed I am, time now is 0540hrs, and I've been listening all night - Going out at 0900hrs, haha - 2hrs sleep, or 2hrs more listening, that is the question!!]

Based on the images used, there's no reason that they couldn't be replaced with text percentages in appropriate increments like "10%" as an image, "20%" as an image, etc.

Not sure if that's quite as accurate as you're looking for though because it's still just images, not a live reading.

Fiio has made me happy for sure. Similarly I started with e17, then X3 and now X5. Each time it's an improvement which is all I can ask for from a company, and they just keep on going. I can see the future and the X7 is definitely in it. cool.gif

More accuracy would be better. Sometimes my X5 shows 2 bars and 5 minutes later it's dead.

Oh ok so 128 GB already covered, possibly higher later as the cards become available. Pretty cool then that I will be able to carry all my hi-res files on one portable device. Thanks for pointing me to this sweet device, already preordered one in black, should cause my X5/E12 to go even further into stealth mode smily_headphones1.gif

The first batch had a charcoal silicone case and later batches have the black case.

Good to know Joe!

In that case i propose that i have one of the earlier ones as could definitely be considered as not black in my case smily_headphones1.gif
