Is there anyone selling it for $349 on there?  All I could seem to find were X5's at a $390 price.

I got an email this afternoon from B&H Photo saying my X5 has shipped. Two hours later I got an email from Amazon saying my two 128 GB SanDisk MicroSDXC cards have shipped. They both should arrive shortly. There goes $600. And I just read about how with the new firmware my X3 sounds better than an X5. Moohahaha!

And B&H still has the X5 listed for $349...

Thanks for the heads up.  I could have sworn that I looked there yesterday and they didn't have any, but thanks for making me check again.

I bought mine from China (Taobao) last week, Great sound - Way too massive (size) for my taste - I keep going back to my Favourite little Colorfly C3  (I love that little beast and it is down to 500 RMB through Taobao at the moment) :)

I'm trying to love the Fiio X5 but I think they were trying to convey a rich Vinyl sound which makes it a little less clear than my go to device; though, obviously, the sound has greater definition than the Colorfly but not by that much - Hmmm I don't know. I'll keep trying to like it.

I didn't notice any sq differences other than enhanced bass.  Did it really only take that much to best the x5?  I hope not cuz I got an x5 coming tomorrow.

Is it just me or 1.27beta is bass light? (compared to 1.23beta)

I've had the weirdest thing happen right now:

Music on my 1st tf card plays fine, and suddenly it can't find anything on the 2nd tf card, so i went into the settings menu to see if it's still readable.

In the "about X5" menu, it shows 2 tf cards, both 59,5 GB in size (which is correct) but on both it says that 30,7 GB is available(which is incorrect, card 1 should have about 1GB of free space, card 2 37.4GB)

Upon further inspection it seems like it stopped reading half my cards, as any artist below "N" it doesn't read on the first card either.

A reboot fixed it. Is it worth filing a bug report on this?

Firmware 1.20
2 x 64GB sandisk Ultra micro SD (genuine ones)
3570 tracks, 3100 FLAC, 460 mp4, 10 mp3.

I would update your firmware first and see if it recurs.

I definitely notice more difference than "enhanced bass". The low end is more defined (not so muddy), and there is less less congestion overall. It looks like my X5 is finally shipping tomorrow, so I'll be able to compare them soon and form a solid opinion.

If it's not a beta firmware, then I'd file a bug. Following this thread, it seems others have had problems with slot 2 reading cards, as well. The more people who report this directly to Fiio the better chance it'll be addressed quickly.

Do they really hope , someone buys it for 600 USD??
It is not really fair
I would still get if it was 299 Euros and thats nearly 450 USD still...but 400 Euros?
Yes, of course i know where to get them for 350 USD including express to germany...but 600 usd ist very very heavy...
