Say what??? MP4Nation isn't a scam is it, I've already been scammed once this month on my Audeze LCD-X's that I never received, don't think I can handle another one.

No it isn't.

It's an authorized dealer for FiiO and is one of the internet's largest international distributor's for audiophile gear. Their size causes some of the problems people are talking about. Mainly meeting deliver dates, back ordering etc.

their biggest issue however is that they don't (maybe they fixed it) ship pre-orders in the order of pre order placed. I believe they fixed this but this was the biggest problem in the past. Besides meeting delivery dates (but this was also a slightly fault on the manufacturer of the unit being shipped)

On your LCD-X's. I am going to guess you didnt' buy from an authorized dealer, or bought it with some sort of buyer protection?

I'm a happy repeat customer of MP4 Nation. Not the best communication about when you'll receive the item(s) I purchased, but I did receive them every time as ordered and in a reasonable amount of time.  The X5 is my first pre-order through them, though.

Bowie, thanks for the reply, PHEW!!! I have to wait about 4-6 weeks for both of my 128 GB Sandisk MicroSD cards anyway from Amazon, so waiting a few more weeks for the X5 is no big deal for me.

As far as the LCD-X's, yes unfortunately I made a mistake trading with a person on Head-Fi who got my HD-800's and $450 cash via PayPal friends & family that I can't get back and supposedly sent the LCD-X's to my house and showed as being delivered last Saturday but were in fact not delivered and still haven't been found, so I'm out a pair of HD-800's & $450 on that deal unfortunately.

I checked them out a bit before placing my pre-order with them, too. I wouldn't have ordered without them being listed as an authorized dealer. Though I am confused as to how FiiO shipped to their "sole distributor" Carve Link in HK but this sole distributor does not distribute to their only listed authorized sales agent in HK, MP4Nation  . I suppose it's that the distro Carve Link actually distributes to other dealers around the world and MP4Nation sells from a non-HK distro, perhaps. Or MP4Nation orders directly from the manufacturer. If the latter, I grumble a bit since, per James' post, that would mean MP4 has actually not paid for/ordered their units yet at all, despite immediately charging us in full for the pre-order. A lot of money tied up for a big ol' ? if indeed it turns out other dealers start getting/shipping them first.  Still, I'm holding out hope this will turn out to have been the better choice over Adorama (who did not charge in advance).

Again, will share any response I get from MP4Nation requesting any updates.

After having the X5 with a 846 for a while now, I feel there's something a lil short in comparison to DAP like Colorfly C4, that is front to back layering. So yesterday I went to try out the X5+E12 stack, and i found that imaging seems a wee bit more defined, but layering is still not quite a match for C4. For the price I still think it's very good value for money, as it has a more high end sound than some more expensive DAPs like AK100. I haven't heard the AK120&240, but to me HM901 and C4 are still kings of the hill. Most evaluation were done using the 846, I don't know if that is gonna be different with fullsize cans.

Just anxious to get my hands on the X5. Time to retire the old iPod Classic G5 (stacked with a Fiio E11).

I get it from XuanVu and paid 50$ to take the place. They give me the price and said my X5 will come in 5 day

I hope it will be the end of my Dap search

Interesting, that company lists the X5 as in stock, but want $40 more than retail. Very little info on them otherwise, and not an authorized seller of Fiio, though their website says they have only just opened in 2013. They seem to sell everything a little above retail. I hope they work out for you, nonetheless. I'm a bit wary.

Don't worry my friend...they have an eBay store before that..the seller is bigbargineonline...which I bought everything from when I needed my Chinese goodies and they recently opened a website aka penonaudio.com...same seller two places to buy stuff...they usually have bew stuff out on the website and then on their eBay store😁😎...no worries...😎

too early to talk X7, but I will try to let the end customer decided what it will be , of course, it should not exceed our ability.

It seems to me a lot will be riding on the X7 as far as being FiiO reference player, thanks James and according to your schedule it does appear it is early to discuss it. I am hoping that it will be along the likes of the top reference players currently or projected for the year, all of that with your no non-sense pricing and our vision of the best features. Can't wait for it to come.
