The Fiio X5 Thread - Page 33

To be honest, I think X3/5 might be too thick for me. Even Galaxy S3+Leckerton UHA-6S.MKII is too thick, and I doubt that X5 will be thinner than S3.

It's a one box solution, which should make it slimmer than a phone+dac/amp.

I think one and thin device can fit you then because if you ask me even X3 alone is okay and X5 will be even slimmer. Well, you actually shouldn't take me serious since I found DX100 'acceptable' sized DAP as long as you don't pair it with an amp. So I am really not that picky on size.

I believe X5 + average sized portable amp should be okay for most of us who is willing to carry a bulky pack but get a finer sound, something like Meier Quickstep or maybe even slimmer things like FiiO E12 or the slimmest thing I seen Headstage Arrow.

Agree, X5 will be more like 1 box solution but for the ones who want to add some extra cream there will be nice options because of the features (Line Out) and slimmer size.

Well, the thing is, I still have to carry my phone around. I usually only have two pockets on me(my pants) and GS3+Wallet+Amp+CIEM is already too big. So GS3+Wallet+X3+CIEM, will probably be big. Still, I'm interested in X5.

You're already carrying around over a million won's worth of equipment. How much are new pants with more pocket space, really?

That makes me sound rich. I have a million won ciem in my pocketL3000.gif. It's summer, and I'm not really aware of many shorts that has more than two pockets on the sides.

I'm not sure that the FPGA technology is a single or dual (per channel) DAC chip solution.  DAP real estate will always be primary consideration.

audio device is just a tool which let you enjoy your favorite music, and you don't just listen to one music and one artist , right?

I am a big fan of the idea of diversity in electronics. Whn you copy something you learn a lot less )and sometimes some very bad things) than you do starting from a clean slate.

If the pricing spread continues to escalate in the irivers direction it will leave a large arena for any company to play in.

Too much of an hassel to carry around a bag. I do have a bag, and when I carry it things are fine as I place my wallet in the bag, giving me more space.
