You're dealing with lee730, who can hear subtle differences between 32gb and 64gb sd cards. Our humble ears aren't blessed as his were. Don't feel bad musicheaven.

I just brought my points to the discussions on LO, nothing more nothing less. I asked about how the LO is implemented on X5 without reading any answers.

I apologize if you feel like you were offended, but that's not my intention. My only intention is to understand and learn things which can help me to enjoy my music more.

FTR - I wasn't 'stomping on you' - nor trying to make a statement. I was merely asking a question, and answering yours.

I am interested in knowing how the LO is implemented. The X5 internal amp may well be very good, but that doesn't do anything to the LO. In theory, if I know the LO is clean, then there will be potentials for improvements. But if the LO is "dirty", the potentials are none or limited.

Vinnie has been in the mod business for so long for a reason, to clean up the audio path by improving the LO's for potentials.

Could be output impedance differences with phones used. Lo does not have a particularly low output impedance requirement. Anything under 100 should be great.

Here is a dirty LO:

Here is the same but clean LO:

And here is the tool that was used to clean it:

Hope this clarifies what I wrote earlier...wasn't interning for it to mean the ZX1 amp was powerful or anything to that effect.

@cooperpwc I'm gonna redo this test all over again with my MH335DW. Something doesn't gel still.

No, this is a cleaner!:

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 80

If Fiio went to all the trouble of producing decent SQ with the HO, I have confidence that they did a good job with the LO, too, and the remark, a few posts back, about difference in OI between the HO and LO was a very valid one.

I enjoy reading your lineout comparison, but y not use your desktop amp and full sized cans to find out which performs better? I think its more revealing?

If i recall correctly there is a separate opamp/path for the x3's LO...not sure about x5 probably will not find out bcos I see no valid reason for modding

I don't have A 3.5mm to RCA cable unfortunately.

In this particular case I smell BS in my own review :-P. I brought my rig to the office & will try to do some listening during breaks.

the hold swich (naturally) broke from the board...

at least it is not in hold state now so i can listen to music

but i will never again have a hold button T_T

that beauty was just 1 month old ._. i am frustrated now...

Devouring all the continual info throughout the pages here and in the world tour thread.
I'm still quite curious about the reasons of the change from the metal wheel to the rubber one. The initial one looked exquisite and chiseled.

My problem is, when I have my rig in the office, my work becomes breaks. Damn it, and I never expect listening to music can be this addictive.

Good thing is my work is to tell people what to do so i don't have to do it. LOL.
