Maybe you should consider selling spare discs, so the customer can choose their preference (I'll take Mk. 1 metal disc, please wink.gif )

I'm serious, though, if they are swappable, it really might be the answer to your problem - just let the customer buy the DAP and then they could decide to attach whichever disc they prefer.

They could make them out of different colors while they're at it biggrin.gif Would be such a hit with the fruit people biggrin.gif Sounds like an idea? It really depends on how user-replaceable the wheels are though. I hope it doesn't involve taking off the front cover...

What is the power output of X5 finally? Did you guys reduced it from X3?

I looked at that early spec too but they assured me that the final spec X5 has more power than the X3. By how much I still don't know, but it's on the order of 30mW or so.

Can you post a link to this, please? (I can find Fiio facebook page, but can't find X5 manufacturing pics)

Thanks.

This wheel is even more non-slip...

I can still remember the old days of jog-shuttle wheels on VHS VCRs, which usually had a single dimple in them, rather than a texture all over (similar to these):

or

I'm not actually suggesting that approach for the scrollwheel on the X5, mind; I'm just sayin' there's usually more than one way of achieving a workable solution.

The player looks good.  Can't wait to hear how it sounds.

James was thinking about making it slightly less powerful than X3 so the player won't get very hot and the battery life can be higher. Apparently they find a way to keep the player cool and the battery life around 12 hours without sacrificing from the power?

Win-Win.

Btw, would you mind posting the official numbers in here, as soon as you have it?

After owning the ZX1 and looking at the above picture, I find the X5 "Smaller" than I imagined it and thin, which is great news for me.

So how do you put the TF/microSD cards in? Is there a tray for them, or same as on the X3?

I think, in the above X5 pic, the slots are covered with rubber covers, not plastic trays. See here (click image to enlarge):

The following pics are of limited help, but may be just-sufficient to answer your question, if you are also familiar with the DX50:

   DX50

   X5

I would be amazed if the X5 card slots aren't push-in-to-latch type.
