I prefer separate mechanical buttons to a clickable wheel. Right now, my ipod nano (the old one with a wheel) is kinda screwy, most of the time when I press down on the wheel, for example to play or pause a song, it scrolls slightly instead. Very irritating. With separate buttons, you won't get that issue.

However, I'm a bit concern about one hand operation given the size of the X5. Not sure if I can reach all 4 buttons with one hand but I can only know when I'm holding one in my hand.

I am merely expressing my opinion
Which will not change until i see a decent product!
Considering i have given these people soo much of my cash i don't see how am i not allowed to express one.
If it makes you happier i will gladly remove the comment, but i don't see how this is a free speech forum if i can not say what i did!
Unless you wanna turn it into the perfect advertising machine of course..

You can express any opinion you like. Just talk about the brands and avoid saying "The Chinese" or "These people". This has nothing to do with freedom of speech.

subscribed, it looks good
I love bottons producing "click" sound.
physical buttons without sound like dx50's seems a bit strange to me.

It's not a free speech forum; this is a place to chit chat about audio gear. The mods are pretty quick to stop any insulting talk/flame wars and I get that. They want this to be a place where people are polite to each other like reasonable human beings (as most do in face-to-face situations). I don't blame them because A LOT of people say horrible things to one another online, things they would never utter in person. This website is a business and its their prerogative to see that it doesn't become a cesspool of negativity and anger.

Anyways, I'm probably going to wait for this to be released - I'm so tempted to get the DX50, but this looks pretty damn good, too. I think it's great that relatively small companies are more or less catering to our little, impossible-to-satisfy demographic.

The way I look at it is theres no reason to jump on any DAP. I can wait for the X5 till the cows come home:wink_face:

yes! it would be perfect when, these bar like buttons were wider on the x5, around the wheel, like first gen. ipod.

not problem for one hand. in fact, you don't need to press the other bottoms because it is very easy to control the volume and choose one sound tracks by the wheel and the play key. for example

turn the wheel when playing, you will go into a new screen like below so you can choose the other sound track.

if you press the play bottom more than 2 second, the volume control pop up so you can adjust the volume.

it is quite simple for use. of course, you can press the play key for play or pause
