After extended comparisons, I say LO of X5 and DX90 are different.  DX90 sounds bolder, but X5 not as bold with more subtle details.  But, one thing for sure Vorz brings out the best of both LOs.

Thanks for that. I'll try the stock cable then for a start. Got to get impressions done for my 1964ears V3 first. Get the X5 ordered then later in the year order up the Vorz (funds permittting!)

Happy Fathers Day to you Nmatheis
Bought some tracks from E-classical for the occasion.

I just tested my PNY 256GB thumb drive on the X5 and it works perfectly.  Attach using the micro USB adaptor that comes with the X5, so it's a temporary pigtail on the unit.  It only cost me $100, that's pretty cheap for 256mb. It comes formatted for FAT32, so there is no reformatting needed. I'm going to put all my classical music on it.

BTW - CAN ANYONE REMIND ME WHAT PROGRAM I NEED TO STRIP HIDDEN FILES OFF A MEMORY CARD WHEN COPIED FROM A MAC COMPUTER?

Thanks, Peter

Ah, Ye Olde "gift thyself" trick, eh wink_face.gif.

Did the same, myself, but with gear - bought the semi-hyped Havi B3 Pro I and mucho-hyped (but never heard) Vsonic VSD3 smily_headphones1.gif.

I do hear a difference, not so subtly, when switching in / out cables with the Vorz Duo / X5, so - am happy with the Just Audio right angled cable - adds a certain amount of extra solidity to the sound smily_headphones1.gif

Lemme know how they sound with your X3. Been tempted myself - along with the im50. (of course you do realize you should've waited for the vsd5;))

I'll try to make some generalizations but am not as sophisticated at sonic descriptions as other, more seasoned head-fi'ers.

And who's to say I won't pick up the VSD5 when it comes out, too wink_face.gif.

But it doesn't affect the soundstage, detail etc does it. By extra solidity do you mean it gives a bit extra weight to the general presentation?

Hey Peter. Can you test X5's battery life with 256GB PNY USB?

Do you think PNY USB Drive will make X5's battery life shorter?

I wonder if a huge usb drive OTG will affect battery life of X5...

Thanks in advance.
