I had all sorts of problems. Two cards, 64GB, bought from Amazon marketplace seller - neither of them would allow me to put more than about 8-9GB onto them: beyond that the files appeared to be there, but showed as 0B. They stuttered and skipped, and were just generally hopeless. It made no difference whether I formatted them in the X5 or in my MBP.

I sent them back and got a refund, so all's well in the end, but I could only assume that they were fakes. The reviews on the Amazon page were OK when I ordered, but by the time I sent them back (I'd had them unopened for a while awaiting the release of the X5) there were quite a few reviews describing the same experiences.

I'm not saying Samsung cards are necessarily to be avoided, but I think I'll steer clear. The actual design of the red and black SanDisk looks harder to fake to me, for a start...

Thanks for the info and yes, it looks like you were sent fakes. I had the same problem with a Samsung Card purchased from eBay, I could not be bothered to return it (it was very cheap, so that should have told me) but find it useful for just checking small files using the Meenova card reader.

I'm awaiting the arrival of a Meenova reader... Good experience?

Worth every penny, it works with NO problems whatsoever also I listen to music in bed every night and the built in Led is not too bright and distracting.

I am that please with it that I have ordered another one in a different colour.

yes, it is true, I guess you guys never saw this before. I am very sorry most are made in China, but there are always good guys and bad gusy in everywhere.

A fake portable Hard-Disk, it is marked as a 256g or 512g hard disk, but you may only get 1g or 4g.

Same here, got a black one and worth every penny, I currently use in in my DX players because at the time the X5 was not OTG enabled. The money spent on it was never regretted, it just works and as a bonus you can transform it into a USB key, ingenious. smily_headphones1.gif it's also frikin small eek.gif

Very good (I have one) but strangely - in my case at the very least, less space than the Sandisk equivalent (58.5GB vs 59.4GB)...

Amazing!

No problem here with my X5 and 24bit files.

I have played 192, 96, 48 and 44 khz and they all play fine, all flac.

I agree that most cases are faulty cards or the format they have, in my case I used GUIformat for both of my 64gb cards (one Sandisk and one Samsung PRO)

I had one problem with tags a few weeks ago, an image that wasn't set properly.

It would be a good idea for Fiio to add a FAQ on their site or a wiki? This doesn't mean the X5 shouldn't aim to be more reliable or help detecting card issues, (I understand the X5 won't be able to deal with ALL card problems) but for example if there are problems with tags, skip that track and write a text file on the root of the card with the exceptions found, this would be an easy and informative way to tackle problems.
