And the reason for HDPHNS.com to announce a delay was what?

By the way I appreciate their gesture of 20% discount on the FiiO HS6 kit,E12 and sd cards, tumbs up for Erik @HDPHNS.com👍

I was hoping to get away from this annoyance that has plagued me for the past year with the X3. I have gapless playback on (which still has gaps) listening through line out to my e12. Please Fiio, pretty please, fix your gapless playback. I find with the X3 it usually freezes when listening and browsing through categories at the same time. That's also what I was doing when the X5 froze.

In the meantime I'll just keep resetting when necessary to enjoy the great sound. I'm a sucker for punishment I guess.

This is very disappointing to hear. I was hoping this fatal flaw was going to be resolved in the x5. I'm not going to order one until I've heard more from users who've had a chance to use the device for a while. I have no interest in struggling with yet another crashy FiiO DAP.

Just got the following in the mail this morning. Also, as far as Fed Ex performance, color me impressed. Left Hong Kong at 6:12pm yesterday and arrived at my doorstep in virginia beach, va at 9:19am. Wow that's fast shipping from mp4nation!

Not sure why you would bother with gapless playback when a) it doesn't work properly anyway and b) you aren't listening to an album that continuously flows between songs i.e. intended for gapless :P

Same with me. It was delivered to my workplace this morning. According to the tracking, it left Hong Kong at 6:12pm yesterday (which is 6:12am New York Time) and just over 24 hours later at 9:10am it was delivered. Now I just have to wait for the mail room to get the package to my desk.

Must have been in the same shipment alwass. Initial impressions are that despite what I've read the scroll wheel feels tight, maybe they did something about that due to complaints? Also whoever was complaining about the weight needs to hit the gym and start doing some curls, this thing is almost as light as an iPod.

It's really something to see how some of the kids here carry on. I haven't bothered to order an X5 yet and I can still comfortably breath and sleep. (My X3 helps). Chill out, your toy will arrive.

For those of you that already have your hands on the X5, do you happen to have any experience with a DX100?

Any comparisons? Specially about output power and drive capability?

Cheers!

Not from MP4Nation, in fact it was free overnight Fedex delivery too, no shipping costs, taxes or import duties required.

B&H now showing the X-5 available for pre-order.

Just got on the list!

Now I need to figure out which SD card to pick up. Any recommendations on what Fiio recommends? Specifically which SanDisc model (64GB is fine for now)?

Here are my suggestions:
We need a menu for the songs/albums/artists when we press the centre button or if we hold the centre button(pressing the centre button would just cause the music to play), the most important feature in the menu would be to put the songs in queue creating a dynamic playlist. The are another features and options(music and system) from poweramp or rockbox I would like to see and use on my x5.

I got this email, too, but I think BH had them for preorder several weeks ago, too. A few people are reporting they have no idea when they're getting stock, though. Head-Direct might be a better option as they're definitely getting some in a few days.
