I think 64gb is the largest micro sd card available
07:56 PM(GMT) Janakiraman(CSA): I understand your concern.
07:57 PM(GMT) Janakiraman(CSA): I can see this item was sold by the seller The Orange Emporium.
07:58 PM(GMT) DC-K: and "Fulfilled by Amazon"
07:59 PM(GMT) Janakiraman(CSA): Yes.
08:00 PM(GMT) Janakiraman(CSA): In this case, I request you place the order for the item. If you are not satisfied with the item I request you to contact us. We will issue full refund and investigate on this product.

I politely declined...

That sounds incredibly fishy.

Also is the x5 out yet?

Out in China, it will be available worldwide around March 2014. Will you get it VZ? Would be nice to see your impressions and comparison to other high end gear you have.

Side note, I am deadly jealous about your MH335DW :D

If Amazon is selling it, it must be legit right?  I will just ignore the fact that Samsung doesn't even make 128GB SD cards (yet). Amazon allways knows mo' bedder than the actual manufacturer's do ya know...;)

+1

OTG as described above just does not work well, most USB powered external hdds are too power hungry for the dap to work, they are just power consumers (battery as well) hence why they work well on PCs. The only solution left are hdds with external power supply. Audio OTG would have been more beneficial. Sorry to say that but that will be one useless feature.

If you think of USB keys and the such, the library scanning will put you off. If they can build a library on the USB device then I'll line up to buy one. Currently the dap might have to read one at a time song for grabbing tag information and file specs.

There are options for those that want to carry a 1TB hard drive, specifically:

http://www.seagate.com/external-hard-drives/portable-hard-drives/wireless/wireless-plus/

I picked up one of these and while the battery doesn't last much longer than 6 hrs, it does provide me with decent capacity. It's USB 3.0 too, so too bad that the OTG/USB implementation on the X5 appears to only be USB 2.0.

Using a 128GB or higher capacity USB flash drive for OTG is also another good possibility.

I apologize for going off topic with this guy. I respect your opinion, please respect mine as well.  Please realize that what sounds unreasonable and illogical to you may sound reasonable and logical to me. Let us not get personal and attack each other like kids. With that said:

1) I did not say I have to have a HDD. Battery life of 2.5'' HDDs has been improving and is quite reasonable currently. You can get 1TB SSD for $650 now. I am willing to pay that much, just like some people are willing to pay for DAPs priced at >$800. Please respect different opinions.

2) I did not expect a DAP to have all those features you mentioned in your post, which was indeed unreasonable :-) especially the highlighted part. I made the poll as a single-choice poll, instead of a multiple-choice one, because I wanted voters to think/weight carefully and keep expectations reasonable.

3) This will be my last post with you on "sample size". Anyone who has learned and passed basic statistics can chime in. Whether or not 1000 is small depends on your study population, sample deviation, hypothesis and many criteria. I see that you are medical student: go to PubMed, read some good clinical studies published in Nature Medicine and see how many studies have sample size of less than 1000. You be the judge yourself. Ask your statistics professor humbly if you don't understand. Take this from a PhD who has earned As in statistics.

like i said; I wouldn't read too much into that poll.  Sample size is way too small to get any sort of real reading from it.  You don't need a statistician; sample size is way too small.  A sample size of 1000 is still way too small.  Are you serious saying that the sample size isn't too small? get real; any one from any science background can tell you that.  It's power is no where near strong enough.  Tests can say anything but if it's not even deemed valid from the get go then its results are all moot.

You want a HDD?  Batterly life would be crap on the thing.  SSD?  500gb ssd is way north of 400 bucks alone.  People need to be reasonable and logical in what should be expected.  I'd love a 1tb dap with a 1 week long battery life, dual sabre dacs, full size usb port, 2 sd card slots, 1920 x 1080 screen w/ wireless qi charging while im at it...and they pay me to take it off their hands.

My point is, since two full-sized SD slots is not an option for X5 currently, OTG host function is a smart work-around solution.

The poll was not designed to be a scientific research. It is there to show a trend. Whether or not the trend is significant needs work from a statistician using Chi-square test or similar test. The poll options should also be altered if we want to be scientifically rigorous. I would not be so quick to say that sample size is too small, power is not enough, or trend is not significant. It depends on your target market population and hypothesis. My gut feeling is that 82 vs a handful would be a significant trend in chi square test, but my training in science and law tells me not to make such a statement without solid data/evidence. I would believe it if a statistician demonstrates such.

Well, I don't see anyone complaining about the lack of storage in the X5 player it self. I would like at least 16gb and why not the option of different sizes, 16gb, 32gb....

1000 is miniscule.  I've taken stats; My prof. was the author of "high yield biostatistics".   That's so small.  The probability of it having an error is astronomical with such a small sample size.  Sure for non scientific purpose you can use a sample size that small but it doesnt mean anything.  Bias out the wazoo, population taken only from head-fi members,  anyone who accepts a test with a sample size of 1000 is just wrong.

No, that's not what I actually said.

I just mean I would trust Amazon to refund me if I buy something dodgy. Their customer service really is excellent in that regard, as I know from personal experience, over the years.

I'm surprised that Amazon allow it - but clearly they do.

I hear you.

I'm not too proud to admit I made a mistake, so cheers for pointing out my mistake; I know you're doing it with good intentions for everyone :beerchug:

I was kidding (joke)....legit 128 GB Micro SD cards don't exist yet.

Why guinea pig yourself regardless of Amazon's warranty gullibility?

Amazon (in my experience) is so good, that I trust whatever item they post, I would doubt if they post an Unicorn, but if they post an X7 next month I would certainly feel itchy to buy it ;)

However, amazon should be more in control of what is for sale on the site.

And your professor fully endorses your statement above?
