Yeah I like it too but was looking for higher end stuff at least as good as AK120 or DX100.

Awww... The DX100 <3 wish I can own it! It's POWERFUL and sound pretty good! Can be slightly on the thin side with K550 thought

Looks like the control wheel sticks out, and is not level with the surface. If that's the case will not be pretty to look at. Also not a fan of the X logo surrounding the control wheel. This X5 better sound insanely good, because it sure ain't pretty.

Sure, as we known, The x3 is the No.1 among all high-res DAP around the world. ( please correct me if there are anywhere I don't know ).  but I know that X3 is not perfect. especially in the ID and UI. but the UI can be upgraded in the future and we believe we can do that cause

we have a great partner who help us design the UI of X5 , I think it is the best even compare with other big company, means it will be world class UI.

Thanks for the pics, James - would you mind posting a pic of the EQ options of the UI, please?

I prefer a neutral sound so my only reason for using EQ is in order to try level-out an uneven response in different pairs of IEMs/CIEMs.

I have decided to take a leap of faith by trusting the power output of the X5 and giving it a try, as the (admittedly beautiful) Sony NW-ZX1 has a rediculously-feeble 15mw+15mw (@16Ω) P/O specification.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, but at least it's thinner :-)

James posted this size comparison chart a few pages back:

Yep, that's only the top half of a photoshopped pic. Was looking for a full frontal pic of the real product..

And it's thinner only by a bit though. It'll be like carrying 2 Note 2s in my pocket... With the X5 being the thicker note 2 :P

Nah, the x5 is only about 50% thicker than a note2 but is a bit narrower and a lot shorter.

I like what I am seeing so far.

This dap has many advantages but surely one of the biggest one is, the points they covered with X3 will be already covered in X5 too, so it is like lot of UI problems solved in advance.

I am just hoping that the it will be easy to use and quite smooth to control, then we have a winner.
