Oh, I think I get ya now.  Thanks.  By the way, are FiiO supposed to be eliminating the wheel for X7?  Has the 7 taken some form that can be described?

FiiO E18 for $130 (same price as E12)

I saw someone with TOTL CIEMs say they were happy with the X5 + E18 combo, and I have TOTL CIEM's arriving in a couple weeks so yeah, I hope he's right lol. Either way, I committed to the $130

Two microSD's each 128GB for a total of 256GB is certainly better than the 120GB Zune I've been using for five years, but I'm a bit of a musical hoarder -- I want to have as much music as possible with me at all times. That's why with my Zune, I've actually been syncing a lot of my music (with the exception of all time favorite albums) in 128kbps (don't worry, the actual files aren't affected, I just have them on the Zune itself that way).

But so you're saying I could have two microSD cards AND an external storage device for a total of say, 256GB + whatever capacity the external device is? Good to know.

Not so long ago I was also in doubt between the E12 and the E18...these 2 reviews pushed me towards the E12 though:

I've not regretted my choice for a second since then, but I'm still a little curious how the E18 would have performed with the X5...

Btw, what TOTL CIEM's did you order?
