Well, you always try to bring a better experience to customers. This is a way to satisfy everyone. For example, I am already good with that statement and relieved. Just release the darn thing in Europe ;)

From the current experience of X3 + E12, I will expect X5 with a more 3D, wider and deeper sound stage, either from LO or PO or both.

sorry, we will try to keep it as simple as we can . and we already have so many USB DAC and will release more in the future.

since Fiio have recently decided to put USB DAC into the X3, is the decision for X5 still the same? or.........

Will this be using a mod powerful or similar amp to the E12? Really interested in this biggrin.gif

No the amp section will be about the same power as the X3 as stated earlier by James.

It should be more than adequate, and that's the key

I agree. I was one of the more vocal ones who said the power of the X3 amp section is perfectly fine. I'm very excited about the X5 after James revealed the specs. Looks to be another amazing value even for $400.

The quality might be better but the power will be the same. As for why I don't work for Fiio so I don't know.

More power doesn't equal to being better..

Agree but given there's so much fan for high impedance headphone like HD600 I was expecting to release one DAP designed for higher-end headphone like those and the X3 for IEM xD Guess will have to wait hehe

You would anyway need a desktop rig to get close to driving those 300 or 600ohm cans properly. Even an entry level Magni at $99 will give you 130mW at 600ohm. What would Fiio achieve even if they double (to 60mW), or even triple (90) the X3 power? You still cannot drive these cans properly. Trying to power high impedance cans with portables is inherently a fool's errand.
