What I was thinking: how much do we have to spend to match the performance of a non portable, decent quality home amp/dac?
(I myself have an ipod 5gen rockboxed, an onkyo nd-s1 digital dock, a Carat-topaz dac: 140+50+100=290$)
......anything available, portable, that comes close?

Well unless it's well worth 1680euros, we'd gladly pay for it. Till then, that could get us a lot of audio gadgets

There's only just so much one can say about a product that doesn't exist until (at least) the end of July.
IMHO, this thread's done surprisingly well to stay as relatively-on-topic as it has, for 76 pages and almost 3 months

There's not much we can discuss about the DX50 if nothing else that has yet to be mentioned has been known by us

I don't agree with the new price either, but as a previous TP owner I can say that the sound is different then any other player out there. Dark, neutral, very detailed, and this coming out of a £20 headphone. If you didn't had the change to listen to it, maybe you can and be ready to be amazed.
