Shure full-sized are excellent too --> SRH440, SRH840, SRH1840 (open though). I found the SRH940s could sometimes be a BIT fatiguing for metal so did not thought about them...

I actually like Rock from my Ultrasone Sig DJ (thought the Signature Pros were better at Metal though...) and my Mad Dogs are actually quite respectable! Haven't tried either the WS99s nor S500s so, can't compare against these JVCs...

The CKN70s have one of the best sound signatures I've ever heard. That's why I'm interested in the WS99s.

Maybe gikigill could help you with that then.

He has both the JVCs and ATs and he mentioned he will compare both! You can maybe suggest some tracks you like so that he can compare?

Yup, throw a few tracks my way and I am happy to give back some feedback.

The sz2000 is the only headphone I've listened to all day, so just showing it some love with a glamour shot :)

And, yes, I'm still very happy I bought it :)

I emailed v-moda they said they will be here "around the end of summer"

Wow, just wow!!!
JVC vs Monster Ncredible N-Pulse... Unamped... Monster is surprising me! Next week is going to be great! wink.gif

P.S. I find bass overall even more powerful than the JVCs!

The mids aren't too warm, like you say they are on the SZ2000. Maybe a bit too bright for outdoor use (I crank up the volume so that the mids are perfect, the bass is pumping away doing its own thing, but too much treble would hurt my ears at those volumes) but it sounded perfect to my ears indoors. So maybe I should just forget these SZ2000 and get the D600 which would be much more portable. Unless I get the M-100 instead... ah decisions decisions.

I've got both M-100'and D-600 and the comfort difference in favor of the Denon is large. Sound I prefer the Denon as well. Can't think of anything I don't like about either really but prefer the Denon overall.

Yeah, I really put a lot of weight on the "comfort" factor, so overall (and not really needing portability), Denons are a good choice. Too close to call...

Guys, I might start a thread on the Monsters next week! Jeez! These are putting some of my previous and current headphones to shame... A bit of resonance but, WOW!!! (JVCs taking a break... Listening to Shania Twain, lol, sounds explendid!)

A lot of Monster's recent offerings have been quite surprising for a company that used to produce Beats. Jude says that the Diamond Tears are one of his all time favorite portables.

Can the Monster compete with the JVC after amplification?
The JVC have a very high tolerance before they give up. The WS99 simply threw their hands up after a certain level of volume.

Probably the same thing could happen to these, but can't test it right now. Next week though smily_headphones1.gif I'm going to keep both of these running and testing, will definitely get back here! wink.gif

Looking forward to it since the JVC could handle my vintage amplifier really well compared to the WS99 or any other headphone I have besides the HE6. The scalability is very good.

I'm intrigued, they look/sound promissing.
