So I have changed the pads on my SZ's and am still having a big problem with the rattling in the headphones.  It sounds like a a tin can is in my left cup!  Anyone else have this problem?  If it is dust, should I spray a little aerosol in the 2 holes below the carbon driver?  I have only used these directly linked to laptop, phone... Haven't had the chance to get an amp yet.  I tossed the satin bad and don't know if that has my warranty in it???  Please help!!! For the first couple of months these cans have been 10/10!

The most recognizable song that they rattle with is Calm Down by G-Eazy.

Thanks!

Tin can...sounds like a loose driver? Try and send em back before spraying air as that might make it worse. Have you opened up the cups with a screwdriver? If you haven't...don't!

I would try to get a refund or exchange. I have been pushing mine hard for 2 years and no driver issues just comfort sometimes. Contact the seller.

Hey guys so had my SZ2K's for a fue months now and well just loving them the sound is getting better and better can't wait till there fully burned in.

Using a catlin C5 and as for eq im on android using the poweramp app and it does the job good enough for my liking for EMD and music like that god these are just winners haha.

Anyway can anyone link me to some good pads? Im still using stock pads at the moment i have small ears so they have not been that bad for me but would like to get the most bass impact and vibration as possible.

Someone said something about the x55 pads being good for this? If so where can i pick some up? or any advice on what to get for pure bass rattle :P

Im unsure where to look or go to buy pads. Thanks.

You would have to buy a used 55x by JVC for maybe $20 or order some HM5 Brainwavez  (google search for both)

I received my SZ's today and I must say they sound much clearer than my M-100's, wider sound stage,

cleaner bass, just a much cleaner, deeper sound! My first listen was with a Vamp Verza headphone amp and

the SZ's sounded distorted, quite muddy if you will, with a lot of digital feedback (iPhone and Onkyo player),

however I could still hear the SZ's potential. Then I plugged them into my LH Labs Pulse Signature Edition and

WOW!!, so clean and really enjoyable right out of the box! As far as equalization goes, later I'll use Amarra for Tidal and then try Jplay with Foobar to eq. the sound to see how deep they really go! Thanks HBB, YOU THA MAN!!

(p.s. as for the pads, the stocks ones are not as bad to me as so many have stated... just my 2 cents)

The 16 ohm 1,500mW specs are very confusing for some. They open up and scale up with better and cleaner power. lots of power.

Enjoy. Be careful with that swivel hinge.

Hold it with the headband and never by the cups and you should have them for quite a while.:beerchug:

No I will not switch. My SZ stays until it dies or I do.

I will add the KANNON because the vibration is on par with the SZ and you can do that at lower volumes. I enjoy the SZ experience.

Thoughts on these vs the JVC's?

The bass enhancement works great on the razer surround pro software if you're willing to try a simpler solution. I messed around with eqing, but got much better, crazy good bass with the razer software and my ican. It has a built in eq and surround sound effects too, but I don't use those. I just turn on bass enhancement, crank the slider up to around 50-75 depending on the game, and enjoy massive bass. I think they offer a free demo too, but I just dove straight in for $20 and have reached my gaming endgame.

I think I may be adding the Kannons to my collection of headphones also, they seem interesting. However, my newly acquired SZ's will definitely be staying, they've been playing non-stop since they've arrived (almost 48 hours of burn in)! I won't lie and say I can tell a difference when I don't since my first impression, but enjoyable still indeed!! By the way, what are some good eq. settings to use for the ultimate bass experience (don't wanna research...to much time...yes lazy...)? Thanks to anyone who shares !!!!

I only raise the sub bass 31 and 62 Hz   and cut at 250 on a 10 band more if on a parametric eq.

But it already has a dip at 250Hz as it is... ?

I'm raising the sub bass and creating a shelf to increase punch. That's why my videos have a lot of action because there is a lot of power before 80Hz and then decay and then i hard cut.

It works very well for me.

Sound pref is a personal thing. That works for me and the SZ

Mkay... Whatever floats your boat I guess wink.gif
In your shoes I would cut it at 200hz instead due to the nature of that FR curve. Not many EQs can do that though...

But you are right, it does increase the punch of sub-bass by giving it more bounce so to speak.

Hi guys I am new to this forum , I am a tremendous bass head and I've bought the sz2k's on other sites and headfi's recommendations , I just wanted to ask one thing that how would these cans sound with a fiio e10k ( they can handle 16-100 ohm cans ) , would it give me the skull rumbling bass or should I pair it with another DAC
