The Cayin is lifting all the way down and 20 is already near +4 or 5

Yes you can still use the phone eq as the amp is just boosting whatever signal your phone sends it...and then you flip the Cayin bass boost and BOOM!

Received the 2000's today, overall really impressed with them! The bass is awesome, RIP ears lol.

The amp is definitely required, I'd go as far as to say don't buy these if you haven't/plan on  getting an amp.

Looking forward to burning them in and seeing how much they improve.

Only downsides are that they are massive and I have quite a small head so they look a bit ridiculous haha, and they also leak a lot of sound but I guess that's expected anyway.

A pad change reduces leakage.

I do have to note it was quite uncomfortable to wear these phones with the stock earpads. I bought the Brainwavez thick pads and it makes it SOOO much more comfortable. Unless you like your ears touching the drivers I recommend buying replacement earpads along with these cans.

These did a good bass test so yeah....they look like they will be more comfy but still pass the bass to your skull

Alright cool, I'll most probably get them.

Is there anyway that I can adjust the bass volume? Like when I put the volume on the Cayin at 7+ the bass is great but the music is too loud. Is there any way I can keep the bass at 7 or higher but the overall volume lower?

I use an eq like this to fix that problem with my X5

Nobody wants to hear screaming in their ******* ears....am I right??

Drop everything via eq uniformly beyond sub-bass and you'll have the SZ sound but quiter and tons of bass.

When in need for BIG bass you gotta go this route sometimes.

Haha the things us bassheads do!

Tried it out, works good but changes the sound of the music too much imo. Surely there must be another way?

What I do in my car is, my stereo lets me change the volume at the front and back separately, so I put the front speakers on 5 and the back speakers/sub on 20. Sounds awesome!

If any HA-SZ2000 owners would be willing to trade theirs for other headphones and/or a ton of CDs, please PM me!

(I'm only posting this because I'm not sure when I'll have the extra cash to buy them outright.)

You can always wait, they're dropping on price relatively fast, might drop even more... I might even end up buying a second pair, just for comparing my modded version against the original :P!

The price has definitely gone down. I got my pair in May 2013 for $350 and today they are going for 60% of that.

The lowest price I see on Amazon with a reasonable delivery time is about $230. The price isn't the issue, though; I simply don't have the extra money right now. I would prefer getting it brand new, anyway. Just not sure how long I'll have to wait for that...
