Yup. Your gonna be fine. These need an amp. Listening to them on a ipod classic without an amp is very very different than from a cowon and e12.
This is a unique set of cans. Do you like Hip Hop? R&B? These have enough torque to cause hearing loss.
The low end is full and deep and can wow your friends and leave you without hearing for a bit. These are the hardest hitting headphones I have heard and I have been listening and hunting since January and tried so many cans all with my amp on my portable rig in my avatar.
I am done. The pure slam and quality and adjustability of the low end is peerless IMO.
These are not for Rock and Roll (I have heard and believe) so everyone who has owned these agrees on that.
I'm a Hip-Hop ,motown R&B listener only and mostly Hip Hop. I recommend these cans and only these cans. The CNT will blow your ******* eardrums. I had physical pain in my ears last night. I felt thrilled and had fun and realized I need to pay attention to these and how much "fun" I have.
The headband is pretty damned comfy to me and the cups while not deep will pivot to the front and back to give you your sweet spot.
If anyone does a big pad mad I might be down for that but part of the pressure on the ear drums on deep hits is because it sits on your ears. It's over ear but shallow surround.
I have no problem with the highs and they are nice top to bottom but I can imagine the dual driver config impedes on some folks desired spectrum.
They are dark like most JVC but if your looking for bass of high impact quality and a limit that exceeds safe hearing...these will NOT distort before your eardrums do. I'm a fanboy. I spent a lot of money and my time looking for a hit that was more than I could handle. I found it.
I just watch as others hunt now and feel a lot better to just enjoy and watch others on the journey to find whatever it is they are looking for? I don't think we know till we hear it.
I didn't till I did...hear it I mean. Now I'm set. I'm preaching the Gospel of BASS because many of my fellow Hip Hop heads knew nothing of this. It was built for us and nobody knew it including the manufacturer.
If you like hip hop your about to become a very very happy man. Since it's portable for you like me (you know these are tanks right? Steel cups housing that bass lab)...when a friend with his booming bass cans comes along don't forget to make him sad...sharing is caring
This is my over the neck rig.
She ain't light but considering the inners complexity I'm cool/prefer they stay safe in what feels like steel? My Akai are gunmetal aluminum...these are tanks.
I cannot thank you enough.
I have heard the word "cannon" thrown out like it was hello or something. Way too many folks use that word without thinking how another person will take it. I was repeatedly disappointed at multiple price ranges
I just wanted well built nice sounding hammers. Is that so hard? Yup.......some folks say Ultrasone Pro 900 are cannons...um...o.k.,...er...no ...no they are not. They hit hard.
I heard a pair of $5,000 dollar headphones 2 weeks ago Pax? something __ax..I admired them and moved along. I was scared to touch them and the rep was scared of me touching them too...lol
We all got different tastes. TH900 are deep and beautiful but I would not dare throw the drivers heat like I send these. No way. That would be dumb like driving a Ferrari on the forest trails kinda dumb. You said these CNT will kill you. they will kill your ears.
I was so far into the hunt and tried so many headphones and guessed they just don't make cans that can exceed safe listening levels for legal reasons or design limitations? I dunno? Price made no difference.
These are nutso bass cans.
Thank you sooooooo much!!!!
(If you are reading this wide world web they are not for Jimmy Pages guitar chords...nobody has said that. It's to thump the crap outta your ear drums while playing Hip Hop like music. really hard, really deep kinda cans)
