LOL! ;)

Only have played 3 tracks... NOT impressed.

Sound lacks clarity to me, especially in the mids.

Seems to, of course, do well in the bass department.

Only have them connected directly to my netbook.

Will connect it to my Cowon C2 a bit later and then to my Home setup

(NuForce HDP --> Lehman BCL).

And another pic just for the heck of it... Pad Compare against Mad Dogs with Alpha Pads ;)

Well, from what I hear, these need good amplification. Your NetBook probably won't cut it.

I will actually be quite happy if these are not very good because I have bought 4 pairs of headphones this month.

Yeah, pump some power through those monsters.  Dang they are big.....................but that lack of depth on the pads............not a good thing.  Wonder what would transplant on to them?  Think those Alpha pads would?

Besides, they're right out of the box. Give it some burn in before you judge :)

Even though the pads lack depth, they don't feel as uncomfortable as I THOUGHT they'd feel.

The Alpha pads I believe are too big.

I have the Dog Pads somewhere, but as it is, mids are not their strong suit. Further separation from the ears with other pads might make it even worse...

They clamp a little bit, but not so bad. A bit of pressure up top (similar to the Yamaha Pro 500s but NOT as bad)

Still haven't connected them to my home system.

Right now using the Cowon directly (no amp), sound is similar to my netbook (meaning, mids are definitely wonky, lacking clarity, transition from mids to highs is Ok, highs are not as clear either. Mid-bass actually doesn't seem as bad but even though this should be engineered for MORE bass, I don't feel it as slamming as even the Q40s... bad start I say...

Tracks used up till now:

Kaskade - Fire in your New Shoes

Toad the Wet Sprocket - Good Intentions

Calvin Harris - Feel So Close

Stone Temple Pilots - Wicked Garden

J-King y Maximan - Ella me Pide Something

Three 6 Mafia - Late Night Tip

Damian Marley - Twist Jamrock Out (DJ Hero 2 Soundtrack)

some others

Have you heard the WS99s?

Nope.

But having tested other AT cans, hopefully they'd produce better mids ;-)

We have very similar musical prefrences atsmile.gif. I hope that sound improves with burn in/amping. Also, I noticed that you also owned the M80. How do these compare?

You know what, glad you bring this out because it ALMOST sounds like the M80s but with "worse" mids, a bigger/wider soundstage and more mid/sub-bass (asterisk use due to my still limited time with the JVCs). It actually kind of reminds me more of the Skullcandy Mix Master Mikes...

Get them burnin as I have been doing for the past week. They are definitely opening up.
Would these improve the mids when amped?
Yup, mids improve too. Soundstage is wider too.

I guess these phones would perfectly suit as my movie phones.
