Indeed.

OK, I need to post this in this forum, because frankly this posting (and the reply I got) has me a little worried.

The poster replied almost immeadiately to me that "he had a lot of interest" and whomever "sent the money first" would get the item! (this on a 5-day old posting).  This violates forum rules in that multiple people could likely send money at the same time, with no clear buyer. He also requested that because I had zero feedback (from this forum...I have over 200 and $150K in transactions under the same name with audiogon) that I send a screen shot guaranteeing I would "not charge back" this transaction no matter what! (The only reason to charge back a Paypal transaction is if something is very wrong...why is this member trying to circumvent those rules also?) Most strange, he did not ask for "confirmed" Payapl address only, as this what truly protects the seller....all this from a seller with 17 posts! Yikes.

Whereas, I appreciate both buyers and sellers protecting themselves in this rather open marketplace, the rules must be followed...and asking for money at the same time from multiple potential buyers, asking to guarantee no-chargeback (even if nothing was shipped) is clearly circumventing the rules.

I thus suggest that you choose the first respondent to your price, give them a reasonable time to send you the money by, and then if that falls through, go onto the next person in the list. You are of course welcome to sell to whomever you want...and verify the buyer, check feedback, etc... but please don't circumvent Paypal's rules either....they are there for a reason. If you do have a potential deal, then check the buyer out via legitimate means: Paypal verification, feedback, and even requesting that transaction be funded non-credit card through Paypal (therebey eliminating that risk too). - Lorne

I did not ask for a confirmed address at all. You really need to calm down, I just want to be protected, if you dont want to deal with me, fine, I dont really care. Your argument is completely invalid, sir and you even went through this with me via PM... I mean, aint one time enough to explain? I am not trying to scam anyone here by any means, I am just quitting the head-fi scene and hobby to fund for a new one. I couldnt care less about you having been in hundreds of trades on Audiogon and spending over $150k alright, I'm just trying to let this amp go to a new home with someone who would actually appreciate and use it. Dont come here accusing me of doing things I am not intented to do and plus, I am not violating any head-fi rules at all.
