Your favourite "not the best" headphones? - Page 11

HD-650's for the last 10 years. Tried the 800's, and they suck(IMO). I'll stick with the 650's for a long time.

Source was the last Senn flagship amp, at the Senn booth. I used my Ipod with Aiff files. I A~B the 650 & 800 for about 45 minutes. I found the 800 to favor the mid~Highs way too much. Not a very flat headphone. If the 650's and 800's had the same msrp, I'd still buy the 650's without a second thought.

mmm ok thanks. I  thinks the high emphasis comes from the internal ringing in the back of cups.

Reason why people mod them. The bass is actually almost "etheral", with "no meat", giving you the feeling that it's lacking. Actually they are flat, their presentation is  just disturbing .

The HD800 isn't really my style but I have to say, the soundstage depth and realism was completely beyond anything I've heard, including the HD6x0. That said, I did prefer the tonal balance and presentation of the HD6x0 for actual enjoyment of music. dsound let me listen to his HD600+Crack SB and I immediately knew that I wanted the same setup.

Sony MDR-ZX100, I finally got them to sound "good", and they were 12 dollars.

Waiting for an upgrade soon.

You can find them cheaper used if you hunt around. Also there are plenty of knock offs for even cheaper still if dont mind it not being authentic.

I do love the eames design.

M audio Q40 for me, because it's so flawed i end up just enjoying the music instead of getting lost in analyzing the music.

My favorite not the best headphones are the Klipsch Image One (1st revision). They are a bit small for over-ear, but a bit big for on-ears. I owned mine for a year and, like most other Klipsch products, they were bassy, warm, decently clear, durable, good looking, and inexpensive. They can be found for less than $40, and they do not require amplification from most devices. They have a built-in mic and a control that has 3 buttons (vol. up, vol. down, play/pause/skip) that work with most phones and MP3 players.

Darn good set of cans for extremely cheap. Both of my best friends still use these, though I've upgraded to Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros.

hd650. not the best at anything really, but when I'm tired in a near headache state, he's the one that will not add fatigue.

best not the best ^_^

HD600, they are not the most detailed cans around, but make everything sound great.
