Sounds pretty interesting. Making a mental note to check out ASP ;). Much thanks!!

So do any of you guys use tube buffers with your Teslas? I have come across buffer owners quite often on the other audio forums I take part in, but seems like over here on the headphone side not many use them. I bought a Grant Fidelity buffer, which is a re-badged Yaqin piece. Even with the stock tubes it's a nice tweak to the sound. I've been meaning to get some nicer ones but it always gets pushed to the back burner. I love the way tubes sort of give the sound just a tad bit more body and flesh it out a little. I like the buffer option since it gives me added flexibility for my SS amps.

You guys already know this, but I have my T1s on right now and they never cease to amaze me how comfortable they are. I could literally wear these all day long and be just as comfortable at the end of the session as I was at the beginning. Do the leather pads on the T5Ps keep your ears just as cool as the pads on the 1350s do? And how many of you guys have both the T1s and the T5Ps, and do you think they are more different than they are alike?

That's one fancy portable rig!

May I know where you got your headphones modified to accommodate a removable cable?

Well my actual setup has a ODAC instead of the Headamp DAC so not quite as fancy. The removable cable was done by BTG Audio to make the T70 accept any Audeze cable and I am using a balanced Norse Skuld 8.

I personally feel that the non removable cable is somewhat of a drawback in an otherwise excellent design of the headphones. My only concern with modding is that it might void any sort of warranty issued by Beyer. What are your thoughts on the matter?

I bought mine second hand so warranty was out anyway. Plus Im willing to bet that most headphone failures are cable related so Im not worried, Beyer drivers are tough.

Did the SQ change? I want to get my 1350 recabled.

not sure since I went from SE to balanced so the change may be because my amp has a better balanced out

I've had my new T1 for 1 week.  Quick impression:   Like stepping up from a Toyota to a Lexus.  Superior balanced sound compared to my HE400, although bass and sub bass are roughly equal, Mids and treble of the T1 is better. The comfort level of the T1 is on par with my HD595 but the T1 has more depth and range.

One thing is really clear I need a more powerful amp.  ALO MKll amps the T1 but is pushed to its limit.  Bellari HA540 is better but I think the T1 needs more power.

I'm using MBAir>Amarra2.5 as my primary player.  Any suggestions?

if you need a portable amp the headamp Pico power is a good choice

yeah a more powerful amp really opens them up.

@RUMAY: there was some talk a page or two ago about synergy with Meier amps, and they seem to have products available in a lot of the less-than-ludicrous price points (especially when including used gear). Any chance you could get a listen with a Meier Classic, or something else along those lines?

Great suggestions thanks.

Wanted to give a plug for razordogaudio great service and price.

Hey Guys - happy T1 user here, love its immersive sound out of the V200 and Metrum Octave.  Now I'm thinking how to get that T1 goodness in a portable form - as I no longer work in my home office where my stack resides.

How does the T5p stack up against the T1 - would I be getting something near to the T1 SQ?

I'd be using with a spotify on a laptop, currently I have an old ibasso D1 which has served me faithfully for some years, and also I guess out of an ipod classic or iphone

Any advice?
