Do SRH840s have that kind of bass?

Yeah, I sent them back for a refund. Not getting Audio Technicas again, no offense to fans. I'm sure they make quality stuff but when you have a negative experience with a brand the first time you use one of their products it's just... meh. They have fantastic customer service in the US though....

If you don't need pro700 levels of bass, try the Vmoda m80. I think there's one on amazon right now for $108, which is great for a headphone that is normally $230!

Sorry though, I should've clarified it in the OP. redface.gif

Then I would recomend the Phillips Fidelio L1. around $160 street price for a retail price of $300. Jude can't stop raving about them, and they could be just what you're looking for if you don't need crazy amounts of bass.

Right now they're 230 on amazon but I assume that it'll go down soon because prices fluctuate like crazy with Heaphones.

Btw, does the fidelity have slightly recessed highs? One thing I can't absolutely stand is sibilant/harsh highs.

Also loving your profile avatar! Just preordered Random access memories on amazon biggrin.gif

The fidelio would require some modding to adhere to greater levels of bass, as they are a semi-open more midrange focused headphone. Btw if you are willing to get used ones from amazon warehouse deals, they are 160.
