Quick update on emailing AKG for questions concerning the new model vs the 65th Annie. I threw out multiple emails. One to the consumer customer support in both US and Austria, and then the professional customer service (where I expected the answer).

Both consumer customer support agents pointed me towards the professional customer service (as expected). Here is the response I received thus far:

"I have requested your information from Headquarters in Vienna; since this is new product, we have not yet received a parts list from the manufacture. I will get in touch with you once I have received that information.

Thanks,

RAFAEL ULLOA

I'll update with additional information when I get it.

saw the numbers, same as the k702 and k601 respectively, both I own.

no interest in them, but would love to hear comparison from akg fanatics that have the money to actually collect every single one of their new" variations"

SO when is k801/2 coming out??????

They should have just released this instead of the Anniversary Edition. I guess it's all about getting as much money as possible.

If this is $500 in the USA I'm going to be sick. If it's cheaper than the Anniversary then i'll just shut up.

Maybe in a year or so it will be the price of the Q701 or close.

Also, in case anyone didn't see my other post, the K612 does NOT have memory foam pads. SHOULD sound identical to the K601, but who knows..

I hate these HD-650 comparisons. To me it's not more airy and with a bigger soundstage. About the same based on memory. HD-650 is way better IMO, but the Annie is definitely more forward sounding.

EDIT: Someone needs to take one for the team and try a K601 with Anniversary pads. Probably warmth overload and way too dark.

gotta keep the hope up bro! q701 priced new flagship LOL

wait, is this even considered flagship?|

how about someone do an honest comparison to k702, just so we all know exactly what the difference is.

I requested to know any differences between the Annie and K712. Including pads, drivers, etc. So the parts list would make those confirmations.

K702 65th ANV edition => introduced a new color scheme , headband AND new kind of pads => memory foam (not the same material) and not angled , pads have an influence on sound . It's expected than K712 Pro use the same memory foam pads as K702 ANV pads .

The earlier K70X used pads that were not angled , after came the Q701 and angled pads wich generalised to the other K70X , and now there is another set of pads that pop out with K702 ANV (memory foam not angled) .

someone on reddit tells me q701 and k702 has no difference in driver, and he is suggesting they basically sound the same and q701 is cheaper and k702 is pointless

How do you cope with people like this..

I'm quite certain that K701's always had angled pads from the onset, way before the Q701's did.
