How's the resale value of the K702 ANV in the coming future like 2-3 years? According to the seller and his pictures, they look extremely new!

Strange that you say the K712 is airier...

I would say that the unmodded HD800 should slightly improve in terms of airiness and soundstage dimensionality... On the other hand, it doesn't mean NA Blur would prefer them over the modded version.

I guess the majority of people on head-fi just enjoys warmer signature more. Still, in comparison to headphones like Audio-technica (AD700, AD900, AD1000), Shure (1440, 1840) or AKG (Q701 at least) HD800 are definitely not as bright... HD800 actually have some real bass (including subbass) and their treble is way more natural. I haven't heard headphone that sounds more like a real performance - be it acoustic session or rock/metal gig.

So the K702 Annie's and K712 Pro sound similar right? I think I will just pull the trigger and purchase it I guess? Setting a meet to meet the seller ^_^

People are saying the K712 is a little more airy and less intimate. So slight improvement if thats what you consider an improvement. Personally, I like the Annie's intimacy (just like I like the LCD2 and HD650's intimacy, which are even less airy and more intimate than the Annie).

Other than that, it shouldn't be anything drastic.

Cool! Will still test it myself first before buying. If I like it, I will buy it and hopefully it will last me for 2-3 years before upgrading ^_^ if at all I happen to end up with some extra $300, might as well get a tube amp for it xD

Not really! I guess it depends on the amp that we paired it with smily_headphones1.gif

Has anyone tried running the K712 with balanced cables and amp?

I have a schitt Mjolinor I purchased for the lcd3, and I'm thinking about adding some Moon Audio Black Dragon balanced cables with the schitt. Anyone have any thoughts with this?

I've been saying that for a couple months now - ever since I first compared them.

The K712 is less airy than the Anniversary? For some reason I thought the comparison was that it was the other way around?

Maybe my memory is shot.

Signature wise the K712's highs are slightly darker and smoother, so slightly less air.

Wut, I misread your comparison then. I could've sworn you said the opposite.
