Really tempted to get it at that price.
But dont know if K712s will drop in price soon (with the new K812s or w/e coming).

Also cant find info on this promotion anywhere.

Let me know what you find out. I've been lurking around here trying to decide whether to get the K702 or the K712. At that price I may just bite the bullet though.

Yep apparently promotion ends October 15th.

The other two promotions on the site ($50 and $100 off) are permanent apparently.

So now I'm trying to decide between the K712 or the Annies for $15 more lol.

Steve Gutenberg on CNET.COM did a short review on the Schitt Asgard 2 using the K712 and also the Schitt Lyr, (my amp). Check it out.

It's here:

Not even worth reading since it sounds more like an ad.

My K-712 review will appear on Headfonics in a few days time.  Just wanted to say I enjoy the set a great deal and think it is worth the price tag.

So if you added Q701 pads to the K712 will it have the same bass quantity as the Q701? Maybe just a tad more. I imagine the bass improvements on the K712 are not JUST from the pads (like with the Annie).

Kind of wondering about this and don't remember if it was in any reviews..

I know I keep bugging people about this, but we seriously need a K712 vs modded Q701 review. I think there will still be a lot of differences.

Which is "best" depends on preferences, but maybe the modded Q701 gets close to having similar mids as the K712 (in terms of just how full they sound). Modded Q701 mids are very full but don't sound as forward as those of the Annie.

Oh yeah..I've asked this before, but if anyone here disliked the Annie and loves the K712, please let me know. I'm really curious if this is even possible! Probably not a chance!

Some super rich guy here (willing to take a chance and risk it) should try the bass port mod on their K712. I bet it will be even better than stock!

Totally reversible with plastic tape.

With how much I love my Annie, I'll probably end up with a pair of these to compare.

Hoping these will hit $350...

Like most everyone here, I love the K702 because of it's massive soundstage, clear and distinct instrument separation, beautiful highs and deep, precise bass, and just overall spaciousness and tonal balance.  It also has greatly improved vocal presentation over the K701, and better bass.  I dislike the uncomfortable headband to be sure, and often wish its base had more oomph, like say, the HD650 and DT880/600.

I've read and am hopeful that the Q solves the bass problem a bit, and I can use some mod or another to solve the headband problem.
Will do, just got finished evaluating a Sony MA900 a friend wanted me to hear. Btw that's a good lower-cost headphone, great soundstage and fantastic for competitive video gaming, but the K712 beats it for excitement and immersion. Didn't compare direct to the Q701 tho.

Assuming fostex did design apple iem's there would probably be nda's protecting the info since apple would want the assumption to be that they designed them.
Fascinating. Though I thought you were taking about the new EarPods, not the IEMs.

Is there any genre in which they excell in your opinion?

Thanks.
