Does anyone know if the 1/4" adapter works for any 1/8" jack? I looks like it screws off so I'm not sure.

It screws off but it doesn't really work for other cables as the plug is too deep and the threads block other plugs.

That's too bad. Well, Monday is start of what I hope is a beautiful friendship with the AKG.

Mine may arrive Monday too! I promise to leave first impressions if you do too!
Not my first rodeo with AKG though, good times with them so far.

Going to play with my re-acquired Sound Blaster Recon3D USB, Rock & Glass tube amp, and Q701's today!

I look forward to both of your impressions.  I find the K712 Pro to be a excellent headphone especially so with great source material.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I'm curious bout how my sound card will handle them. In particular, how they pair with the SBX.

Can't wait to to try these! They're not yet available though. It looks like AKG is listening to people. Alternate types of pads are a good idea.

That website even ships to the USA. Cost is around $62 USD.

Anyone remember these?

Are those angled pads or do they just look that way in the pic?

Someone should email Thomann and ask if that's really a GEL pad.  Maybe it's a listing error or it's actually just the memory foam ones.

I haven't heard good things about the Beyer gel pads...

WOW and that price is for a SINGLE PAD. $66 per pad. Obviously they'd be cheaper in the USA you'd think...
