FS: Meridian DSP 5000C Center Channel Speaker
Will Ship To: Anywhere
Meridian DSP5000C center channel digital speaker is in beautiful condition and sounds fantastic. One owner, purchased in the mid-1990s and upgraded to 24bit/96khz capabilities by Meridian in 2007.
Please note that this is not your ordinary plug and play stereo speaker. It's designed to function as part of a Meridian system; you'll need a Meridian processor or source component to drive it. Standard analog or digital output from non meridian processors do not possess Meridian's proprietary high speed digital technology.
UPDATE: I went out to my storage unit and grabbed the original box that this speaker came in. I'd be willing to ship anywhere in the CONUS at buyers cost + PayPal fee.
Some relevant information about the DSP 5000C that I pulled from various places on the web:
How many other speaker designs can boast to having built in Tri-Amplification -- each driver has its own amp. Also being a truly digital design -- when you add a Meridian Processor or DVD/CD player to the DSP5000, the signal stays digital all the way until it reaches the DACs in the speakers where it is converted back to a music signal for the Class A amplification to make power for each of the drivers.
This method is 3 times more efficient then conventional speakers driven by external amplification and eliminates the single most detrimental factor in high end audio -- the cables - with their inherent signal loss and other anomalies.
The end result is an absolute clarity and purity for music and movie presentations. Also by keeping things digital Meridian can keep other resolution robbing passive components out of the signal path. Crossover functions, Equalization, Location Correction are all handled by state of the art digital processors.
