Hi !

Maybe the topic has been already discussed in some other 3D.  Please direct me to those topics.

I think that the Kit solution is a very good one

I very much prefer solid state designs for practical reason (lower voltages implied)

I have some general questions just to know how to start

  1. better to go with a discrete design or a op-amp based one ? it is not clear to me because the fans of the chips say that the best chips available nowadays have performance very difficult to beat
  2. which kit ?
  3. in case of op-amp which is the best chip around to drive headphones ?
  4. do you think that a kit can rival a commercial unit in terms of sound quality ?
