The yammie always surprise me on how versatile it can be...if u have some snake oil lying around the house,
Apply it on the plug n adaptor....
Get a screwdriver n check out the sppppace inside this can...rub your hands.

I don't have any snake oil, but some sorbothane was delivered to my place a few days ago. Close enough?

I am listening to the tripledeckedyammie on the iPad now, ridiculously clean n spacious!

You're gonna have a cardiac if you keep imbibing in that tripledecker lol! But yeah, clean and spacious is right. I'm hearing that right now with the 220's off of the C3/BH combo with this track - wow (Adam Holzman's moog solo at 6:42 is tres cool - feel free to start there - followed up by a very nice Guthrie Govan guiter solo):

Ya the backbeat pro is kinda large-ish for the gym....
But it beatS the crap out of the B&O H8,
The soundscape is frontwarddeep, spacious off a samsungfone..dammm my pocket is screaming.

Damn, mine might be screaming even more if you keep that up! Hey, does that mean you bought them? If so, very cool!

After listen few HP on local shop with ibasso dx90 (MSR7, Momentum I + II over ear, AKG K550, M50x, Beyer COP, B&O H6) with no business, I ordered mt220. They arrived and after few days I must say: They are awesome, just awesome.
Natural, musical, very clean and enjoyable sound

Excellent description! They are exceeding my expectations, that's for sure. Making me want to re-rip all of my music to flac and upgrade all of my eqipment. Dammit lol!

Out of curiosity i downloaded Pure Music 3 player.  It literally blowed my mt220 with "more sound".   Thats the first impression - now there is "more sound" in mt220s cups!
I usually use Audirvana Plus and i was satisfied with it, it sounds good...

But Pure Music 3 takes it to a new level , more body more separation, bigger soundstage , more depth to the sound, very analog sounding,  stronger dynamics , now mt220 punch even harder and deeper and the best part is - it sounds lush and natural , very relaxing for the ears.

Going from Audirvana Plus to Pure Music 3 is like going from sleeping on the couch  to sleeping on a comfy bed...

If you got a good DAC and using computer as a source in your system , i highly recomend Pure Music 3 !

It makes a computer to a high end source.

yeah it works with OS, i got macbook pro retina myself ....
you can download it for free and use it for 15 days , after demo period is over you have to buy it.

i think the price is similar to audirvana or  something in that area...

i got to say Vocals on Pure Music 3 is awesome, so full-bodied ö.Ö

vocals on audirvana sound sharper  but flat ,  on pure music its full bodied , warm and less digital.

its like comparing a good cd player to a good vinyl player, pure music being vinyl and audirvana being a cd player ...

i can easily see someone would prefer audirvana and some pure music , its a matter of taste  but i am allergic to digital glare , always was attracted to analog sound character , and powerfull dynamics and warm full bodied mids with lush treble is seductive )))

i am going with pure music 3.

p.s
its funny how i thought audirvana is more detailed or bette say have sharper imaging.
On Lana del rey - west coast , track opens with beat and ambient sound to it. before (with audirvana )  i thought its electric beat made by computer , for the first time with pure music 3 i hear that its actually a drummer playing , hiting drums and theres cymbals... very cool )

Glad you're loving them, thought you would.

Having it! And being the mad modder that I am, I did the "cotton ball stuffing" trick. Didn't seem to hurt! I stuffed them top/bottom/left/right.. is that how you did it?

I, and I think most, have just the backside/top/bottom stuffed....not the front. Have a play around and see what you like best but I like the intimacy and impact this headphone provides, you start to loose that a little the further you space the driver away.

thanks Arttt...i am reading thru the details on Pure Music...
my McAir's memory is maxxed out...let me see if i am  able to get it on board for a trial. :)

===============

hmmmm initial impressions..

think i still prefer the more clarion, warm, accentuated presentation of the vocals/main instrumentation of the Audirvana, in a 3D SOUNDSCAPE.

PURE MUSIC tends to line/blend/mellow out the vocals n orchestra into one big spacious swirling sound...enjoyable but a tad less EXCITING :p

just my taste....one isnt inferior to the other, besides there are alot of adjustments u can make in the software i believe...i havent touched those i think :p

===========

might throw my $$ into a BackbeatPro instead for $165  ...lol

hmmm , well....  it is a matter of taste )
i agree both players are good. I am sacrificing sharper imaging and better layering of Audirvana for  Smoothnessssss and full-bodied mids of Pure Music 3 , in my system and to my ears it sounds cool )

Audirvana in compare to Pure Music 3  sounds grainy now , you didn't notice that ?

by the way , i notice someone here wrote mt220 doesn't have angled drivers , but angled baffles .  whats the difference ?  Driver is at angled position toward ear so it sounds the same if baffles are angled or driver it self is angled in the front of the cup ( like in T1 )
