Having purchased the second commercially available Tera Player (verifiable on Charles website) and paid the introductory price of 500 Euros, I thought it an outstanding DAP at this price point and expected it to retail around 600 - 700 Euros. The 800+ Euro price surprised me, but the Tera Player seemed to sell well and the vast majority of owners were happy with their purchase.
I happily championed the Tera Player in earlier locked threads and genuinely believed that this diminutive DAP was a sonic revelation, as it delivered a very analogue sound without the usual digital artefacts associated with digitised music. Then the hate mongers widely besmirched Charles as a charlatan and accused TP owners of over hyping a functionally restricted device.
Today I'm ambivalent about my Tera Player, as it does sound good, but other recently introduced DAP's sound virtually as good and offer far greater functionality.
Quite frankly the price hike is Charles taking the proverbial mickey, as he could make a profit selling Tera Players at 500 Euros, more so at the 800+ Euro price, but doubling this is blatant profiteering!
