Custom headphone help

Okay, so I'm making custom headphones for a friend, (http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&productId=8198552921666308190&langId=-1&k_id=318eec9c-1b41-9b49-729d-000027914a33&XID=O:MDRZX100%2fBLK:dg_gglpla&kpid=8198552921666308190&XID=O:mdrzx100/blk:dg_gglsrch:pla&cagpspn=pla) they are sony MDR-ZX100 headphones. I was just going to spray paint the headphones and put some text on it with double sided tape and clear coating it. Then on the cups I would put more images (printed onto average copy paper) and clea rcoat over them. Would that wok?

If you're the one doing it, I don't see anything stopping you from doing it. Hope it goes well! Though the cups would be quite small to begin with.

As for taking the phones apart (the cups), doesn't look possible. The cables are also attached.
