For Sale: Improved MHDT Havana DAC

 

Upgrades with high quality components:

 

  • R-Core Transformer (220-240VAC).
  • Jantzen Audio Silver Z-cap 3,3 uF 800V Output Capacitors.
  • ELNA Silmic II electrolytic capacitors on the circuit around the tube pre-amplifier.
  • Tantalum resistors on the circuit around the tube pre-amplifier

 

Tubes included:

  • Bendix 6385 1964. NOS - original box. The Super-Star tube!. Less than 15 hours of use. Valued around $200.
  • Western Electic 2C51 396A  NOS – original box. Less than 15 hours of use.
  • Raytheon CK5670 NOS Original Box. Less than 15 hours of use.
  • GE General Electric JAN 5670 NOS. Less than 15 hours of use.

 

Includes a vibration damper for the tube.

Yes, the Havana "sounds better"  that's the only thing I hear, nobody tells us what's happening with the sound when you do this or this is happening with the sound when you do that. Or after my modification the Havana sounds more this or that, better/deeper/faster bass, mids or highs, better soundstage, deeper or wider, more or less open, more natural or whatever.

can this be changed to US voltages?

Hi Kenman,

 

The new R-Core transformer is only for 220-240V. To change it to US Voltage it would need to be changed to the original transformer that has dual-voltage.
