I wouldn't call it "opening up", more like evening out the frequency response. They eliminate the mid-bass bump that made everything horribly warm at times.

Listening to deathmau5's "album title goes here" and all songs gave me WOW moments. Surprises me everytime I listen to the SD3 that these are world class iems for EDM... And I mean everytime. What is sooo great is the level of depth and layering.

All EDM listeners must have the sd3 in their arsenal.

And synergy with the IHIFI960 +Portatube is plainly insanely stupendously awesome

Bog-standard morning for me.

Ever since i got the ortofon tips i find my self pairing up the SD-2:s with the E12 a lot more than i used to.

Amping up the SD-2:s with E12 extends the bass response quite a bit and picks up where the X3 is lacking (i.e extension and smoothness).

Just wish i had a X5 to get all of those lovely details as well.
