So yeah, is it possible to make the Hesh 2's have more subwoofer-like bass?

Why not just integrate bass boost into your portable amp? 

 

You could also build a passive shelved low pass filter.

EQ... cut everything above ~200Hz and amplify the signal sufficiently.  That will get you there.  The unknown factor is how well those cans handle the curve and signal boost.

In my (limited) experience the Hesh (version1) handle abuse better than a set of Ultrasone HFI-780 that I blew up after removing the protection diodes (removing the diodes was all the rage when these were FOTM.)
