ardilla, please respond to authority. I know you're reading! Did you pick up the HE-6's that were floating around in the Norwegian classifieds? :D

That is an interesting question. Hopefully, with the new Auralic US offensive, we'll know someday... smily_headphones1.gif

Question for Taurus MKII owners. I didn't notice gain switch  on the amp, how well it drives different sensitivity phones, I've read that MKII was tuned specifically to shine with Audeze phones, what about high sensitivity like ATH or IEMs, is there any hiss with them, how about volume adjustment, is it fine enough. The pot is ALPS, right?

Thanks in advance

I think the mkI is dead silent with earbuds - so the mkII will probably too....

Anyone had a chance to compare Taurus with Burson Soloist, 6 moons liked Auralic over HA-160, but Soloist supposed to be an improvement?

correct, even if you can play with bal/std output mode to modify the gain by 6db (only with 4 pin xlr though)

as far as I have tested, high sens hp is ok, of course pot will be much more closed.

is there any hiss with them,

deadly quiet, even with pot all open

pot should be a log-type alps, adjustment is very fine

Thanks in advance

my only concern with using a Taurus with an high-sens hp regards the max power, if you own an hig-sens hp you should not need the power Taurus can output..... so in a sense it's a waste of resources (and money....), much very like using a Ferrari always in 1st gear....

Hi Andrew:
How do you like the Vega ? Did you have a chance to compare it with other DACs?

Thanks

Well, it trumped Burson Conductor, but that wasn't hard.

But my all time favorite and trusted Chord DAC64 while still sounding quite competent was also not up to snuff and had to go (gonna miss that guy) :(

Sorry for now providing detailed report on differences but it's very hard to go back to anything else after getting taste of Vega to do a proper head to head comparison.

Now I am really getting very interesting in what Taurus can bring to the table. :veryevil:

Did you get a chance to compare it with a PWD2? Compared to the Conductor the PWD2 sounds refined, more open, and adds emotional engagement. It's also more detailed in a natural and efortless way. But I'm eyeing the Vega too, that's why I ask.
