Hey guys,

looks like a great community and full of music passionate ! Sorry for my english I'm French, I'll try to do my best !

So I am looking for a new pair of headphones to use them at Home.

I am already using my Sennheiser HD 25-II when going outside, I ****** love them ! But I want to find good headphones which I can wear for a long time without hurting my poor little ears ;)

So I think open headphones would do the best ! But which ones ? I have a max budget of 200-250€ so 250-300$.

I would also like headphones with a great spacialisation, you know really feeling like I'm in a large room !

I heard a lot of good things about Grado Headphones, but they don't seem confortable at all !

I'm a heavy listener of heavier kind of music, think Kyuss, Fu Manchu, QOTSA and also a lot of 70's Rock like Led Zep.

I already give a huge thanks to all of those who will answer me ;)

Cheers guys

Hey Dubmaster thanks for your reply !

Yeah the Sennheiser hd598 is lookin cool :)

Don't think it would be better to stay with my HD 25-II and just buy a DAC/amp to plug into my macbook ?

Thanks

I am a metal guy....  Slayer, Morbid Angel, Lamb of God etc. I have had the Grado 80's and while I will agree that they are fast with an up front soundstage I also found them to be lacking in the bass dept. and way uncomfortable. My main rig consists of a pair of HD650's which I know most say are too laid back for metal but I would have to disagree.

Anyways before I get way off track I recently aquired a pair of HD598's on the cheap, cheap enough to buy them without even thinking about it, and these may be what you are looking for. I have only listened to them for a little bit and can say that out of an ipod or off of a tube amp they can do metal quite well, and comfort, not a problem.

Just my .02.

Hey walls, thanks for your reply ;)

I was also wondering if the Shure SRH1440 would fit well for the genre of music I listen ?

What about the HD600 ?

Thanks !
