Fiio E07K with Clarityone EB110?

I just purchased a Fiio E07K. How would it work with my Clarityone EB110? They are 8 ohm and the amp states 16ohm, so will 8 ohm work well with the amp? I had a E11 before, running with Image One's, but I decided to head back into in ears a bit, and I need purchased the E07K because the E11 died on me. Any insights?

It would not be ideal. I don't know what the E07K's output impedance is, but you want an 8:1 ratio or higher-so for 8 ohm IEMs you want an amp with 1 ohm or lower. As the E07K lists 16 ohm as its lowest, it probably has 2 ohm output impedance, but I'm not sure.

I emailed the company about the amp and they said the headphones would work perfectly with it.

RMAA measurement doesn’t show any problem at all. The DAC output is flat and so is the amp section. Beyond that, other parameters such as noise and THD are very well behaved as well. Crosstalk into a 16ohm load is around -61dB, which is respectable.  Output impedance is an impressive 0.09ohm. Plenty of power into a 47ohm fixed load and even better to a 23.5ohm fixed load, showing it should drive low impedance load just fine. It also output slightly higher power than E17, which confirms the spec FiiO has listed.

Would that mean it would work fine with 8 ohms?

I won't pretend to be an EE who could understand all of that, but from what I know, .09 ohm output impedance is plenty low for 8 ohm.

I hope so. I am really enjoying these EB110's. I had an E11 previously, which I was using mainly with the Image One's, but it died. I was using the iPod without an amp for some time, but I have a need for it, for the iPod just lacks. For one, the volume. Most of my albums are older albums, or at least from artists who have been around for a while, and other albums that have not been rendered in high decibel levels. As a result, volume sucks on the iPod for me. It is clearly a device made for current music, which is more often than not, louder. I also feel the iPod is not delivering the sound the headphones can produce. It sounds good, but not complete.
