The only thing I don't like about that case is that there's no padding on the side of it.

Just buy some peel and stick foam sheets from Walmart or Amazon and cut a piece to line the sides. That's what I did.

I received my JH 16s on 12/24 and had to send them back on 12/30 due to bad fit. Still waiting for them. It feels as if JH is dragging their feet. I send in pictures to show that they stick out from the top and that the left canal is too long. I called and spoke to the repair department to ensure they adjust them for a better fit. I even sent in picture of the UE 7s which fit perfect to help them correct problem. I've done everything I can to provide all information and hope they deliver. I'll be very disappointed if they don't fit perfect as this is what I expect. Sorry for the rant! Just frustrated!

Has anyone else had fit issues with the JH 16s?

Fortunately no. I did have to do a refit with  my ACS T1's though. Good luck with the turn around.

I hear after the Black Friday sale they are pretty backed up. I don't know if reshelling has priority but I don't know that they increased resources either. Also the mold is good for about a year and after that the mold starts to not hold its shape so if it has been some time that may be a consideration. In any case hope things work out.

Yeah, pretty much a lot of people who ordered the Roxanne during the Black Friday sale are still waiting to get their shipping notice. JH is  behind on orders now.

Anyone have any experiences pairing the 16s with portable amps that have a bass boost option (Alo RX mk3, JDS c5, ..)?

Yes I have a C5D and used it with JH16. The bass boost works well and adds volume and impact/puch on the lows overall without bleeding into mids.

However, I find it to have a narrower soundstage compared to say a UHA-4 and the highs can sometimes depending on the song (more of how it was recorded or mastered) be harsh and details could be lacking. Again this is compared to UHA-4.

I had Alo rx 3b, to my ear, this amp was bit bright sound.  bass boost option was cool but

I wasn't happy with hiss with jh16,

The c5 works awesome for the jh16.  The bass is just out of this world, depending on what cable you have.  Surprisingly, silver gives you the most bass, if you also have a silver interconnect.  Okay okay I won't say any more about cables due to fear of opening up another can of worms.  The bass is so powerful, it does bleed a little bit into the lower mids but not nearly as much as cheaper headphones because the clarity is still there.

I actually just bought an Alo RX MK3 used from the forum today, but I'm afraid that the hiss might be too strong too. Seems like the C5 is the next best option then! I have the older C421 but I find the channel imbalance too strong for IEMs to be used at all.

Try Ray Samuels amp, I don't have complaint with hissing.  I had sr71b still great amp, now I have the intruder.

much powerful and it's great with the sensitive iems too.

I got my JH 16s back today and I must say they did a nice job with the re-fit. I can tell that they spent a lot of time making the adjustments.

Bad fits sometimes happens but happy JH delivered.

Happy customer for sure!

Greetings everyone -

Does anyone know if the JH 16 sound exponentially better amped?

I use them with the AK 120 and they sound really good but wondering what kind of sound improvements and amp would provide?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks much!

I'm pretty sure the ak120 is one of the best sources you can play your jh16's on although there are amps that can probably give you the same pop. Although expensive.
