I would argue that LCD-3 sounds a touch better than LCD-2 on low volumes, but it's just as easy to crank them up due to excitement...

imo a woman of your caliber do need to own, or at least demo, LCD-3 at one point though, lol.

ill hear one eventually, maybe get one somewhere down the line. i do enjoy the LCD-2 much more since ive gotten the 596 tube. what i wonder about the LCD-3 is how much less impact is has vs the LCD-2

My NOS tubes and LCD2 came in this morning!
I only had time to open the box and take a couple of quick shots.
I know what I am doing this weekend!!
Thanks again for all of your help!

it sounds great!

i found it a bit bright at times though with the wrong tubes/headphones, but sounds fantastic with denons, audeze, and hifiman!

Hi guys, I plugged in the LCD2 into the WA6 SE last night and I was amazed to say the least!

I put on "The Cure — Disintegration" and couldn't believe the soundstage/separation.

I noticed myself constantly looking behind me, it felt like someone was creeping up on me, pretty cool.

The bass was just right too!

More listening this weekend but so far I'm in love.

I was too late triportsad.gif

Stax Sr-007 with amp can sometimes be found for 2K used. Even some labdas signatures are better than the LCD2.

No and no.

Jesus Christ, I'd rather take a week's vacation in Europe with a few K than get a pair of headphones!
