I received the new scroll wheel today and installed it in no time. Now it stayed firm but when I spinned it, the edge of the wheel would scratch against the bezel!

I have reverted back to the loose wheel. Couldn't believe it rolleyes.gif

Most probably the wheel is a bit oversize. You may file a bit the edges of the bezel hole.

Exactly what I have said before..

Quality wise Hifiman cannot match iRiver.

not ready for prime time - Usable, but only just so; not very robust; for internal use only. Said of a program or device. Often connotes that the thing will be made more solid Real Soon Now. This term comes from the ensemble name of the original cast of "Saturday Night Live", the "Not Ready for Prime Time Players". It has extra flavour for hackers because of the special (though now semi-obsolescent) meaning of prime time.

That packaging is really WTF!?!?!?! eek.gif  Usually things aren't looking bring when the parcel I receive make noise before opening it..... and the noise is from the amp board banging that transparent plastic box.  Just switched out the standard card with the balanced card and really relieved it works.  beerchug.gif

Initial impression is that the balanced card give better layering, more depth, improved clarity, and deeper more controlled bass.  But not sure if cable plays a part as I'm using my W4R with the stock SE cable with standard, and a similar braided balanced cable for the balance amp.

I finally get to open the package. Actually, the inside is much better than I thought. There is no sound for a start... normal_smile%20.gif

I think the extra foam on top of the card stop the movement and hence the sound.
