However, I will let those who already got their units comment on the alleged bugs etc.

You can order from Moon Audio if you want BTW.

Interestingly I did not read any of these bugs either from this forum. But since I can read Chinese, they are my discoveries on erji.net where more people owned this unit. Dr. fang actually has a section on that forum for fans to ask questions and post impression or complaints. I have pored over almost every bits of information that is related to 901 and this is what I found out.

I have encountered this bug only a couple times and I think it's been fixed in the latest beta FW.

Maby (some or most of) the reported bugs are fixed. My impression is that there was several problems earlier, but that most of these are taken care of - like the wheel.

Well, the delayed release in AU actually prevented me from being precipitate which I always am. Having done a lot of research both in Chinese and English forums regarding this unit, I found out that the original amp card is no good at all, but adding the balanced card will make the total price the same as AK120. Although a lot reviews reckon it does sound better than ak120 in terms of sound stage and texture, taking its numerous UI bugs and design flaws into account, it could be a bit of pain to actually own a 901.

To be honest I actually partial to the look of 901 over ak120.

Is that true that this bug- "missing a few seconds at the beginning and the end of each track" is still existed in latest firmware of HM-901???

Read post #662.

gzeminem doesn't have the HM-901 himself.

I followed pekingduck's brave endeavor and updated it on my 901. Wouldn't have had get around to do this if I'm not stuck in my hotel room on a boring trip. Glad I have the firmware file loaded.

Gapless is working flawlessly as reported earlier and it also fixed the intermittent missing second issue when switching songs.

I think I heard a slight change in sound, for the better. The sound signature or FR staye the same but the sound is more refined with blacks really black - as black as my ak120. With the previous firmware I used to think when on high gain, while soundstage and clarity increased, there is slight hiss and the sound can be too raw or even coarse at times. Now it achieved power without losing the refinement. Either it really changed for the better, or the hotel room has me hallucinated.... biggrin.gif

I like what I am hearing about this dap but I wish Dr Fang could pay more attention and provide more service to Eu.

Maybe one day we will see some changes.

I am not sure you can write freely in that hotel room mate wink.gif I got what you mean but for the moment I spent some huge money (well, huge for me at least) on a ciem, I have wait and save more for a nice high end dap.

Yep. Totally agree. EU is the worst place to import stuff. I try to only buy European made stuff (TP, SE5, iQube, etc) mainly to avoid double taxing and of course those EU made stuff are superb. But when I need/want to buy something from outside I buy it from classified. Most of the time they don't get taxed.

I checked availability of other Hifiman products, it seems like some places in Eu region have their old models including in ears and old daps. Also some places have their new in ear RE400 too. So maybe, in the future, we can access to HM901 in here too. It is all matter of availability and official Eu launch of their products.

I am not in hurry, since I am going to spend all of my money on SE5way very soon and when I save some again, I am hoping to see HM 901 in Europe.

I'm curious as well about the 901 and probably will get it at some point. But for now my SE5 sounds amazing with TP followed closely by AK120.

This is really a great improvement from HiFiMan! biggrin.gif

I think I also noticed some (minor) changes in sonics but since I didn't do some before and after comparison, I wasn't so sure...

On your 901 are files sorted in alphabetical order?
