Probably already answered before but I'm way too lazy to browse the thread.. Can anybody give battery life time approximation for different amp cards? Thanks!

Is it true that the HM-901 has better sound quality than AK120 but lower play time?

Try the search function.

Reports are saying the SQ is better than AK120, yes.

Actually the only extensive comparison is from Kkcc and he says that 901 needs the balanced card to truly best the ak120.

I see.. Thanks.
I saw something about 7-8 hours battery life. Way too short for me. I hope future software updates will fix the power efficiency.

I honestly doubt that software will bring that much improvement. with ak120 you are around 12 to 14.

I thought AK120 was in the range of 15-20 hours. So TP battery life is still untouchable considering how small the battery it has. I think I can live with 12-14 hours..
Let's see how the the rest (DX50, X5, etc) will catch up. Interesting year for portable DAP.

I have tested mine's battery, I am just repeating what another said. So might be more. I do not know if this is also related, but as much as I love the TP, the AK120 is much more powerful.

Ok, that explain a lot why AK120 has shorter battery life. The HM-901 amp is also really strong (opa627 is a power eater), but considering it's giant battery, I thought they can live a longer than 10 hours.

Although I am not sure if it is TECHNICALLY more powerful than the TP, it just sounds more powerful...so I suppose it is...

10 hours or so for the standard amp board. 7 hours or so with the balanced board. But these aren't scientific tests but just my observation from actually usage in the past few days.

The Tera Player has a somewhat high output impedance, while the AK120 has 3-5 Ohm OI. With multi BA iems the TP will give you less bass and more treble than the 120. This could easily be heard as being less powerful at a given SPL. However, if it's only in terms of max volume you experience it, then it's the difference in power of the amps of course.

Hisound studio is battery king.

I listened to the 901 just now for the first time in balanced mode!

It really sounded quite sensational......bigsmile_face.gif

Agree, I'm still keeping my Studio V because of that.

Jazzy, out of curiosity, why did you sell your Westone ES5 what was the wrong thing with it?
