Shall I take that Fang didn't have an ETA for the rest of the amp board? Didn't see any mention of this....

I have been listening to my (thanks Sean) 901 for most of the evening with a pair of FitEar 111....and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the sonics of this player!

The 901 is probably the only DAP I own that I genuinely feel doesn't require an external amp to help it along. The 901 has an almost SET type tubey sound quality that is so so additivenormal_smile%20.gif.

It runs a little hot for comfort, would be my only criticism at the moment!

What amp module are you using? Standard or Balanced?

Balanced..........

How does the Balanced sound compared to the Standard?

Do you have any facts about the Balanced amp module like power output and output impedance?

I would also LOVE to hear what you think of the HM-901 with the Miracle.

To be honest....I have no idea of the differences or improvements that the balanced amp card has over the regular amp card? !

I will try the 901 with the Miracles later in week and get back to you:)

Hi.

When you  say balanced, you mean that you must have specially equipped headphones,or every headphone can be balanced with some adapter?

Your phone needs to be balanced.  But the balance amp board itself has more power than the standard amp board so you'd still get better sound quality using singled ended phones.

Later today you mean ... ksc75smile.gif

Seriously - I'm looking very much forward to reading your impression.

You do have the Standard amp also?

I am almost pulling the trigger on the 901, and I am wondering if I should get the Balanced card also, or I should wait for the IEM card being available. I have the Burson Soloist for full size headphones and only if the Balanced amp card sounds noticably better than the Std., and also there is enough "turn" on the volume dial to get the preferred sound level on sensitive IEMs (incl. low or at least somewhat low sound level), then I would go for it.

Lars I think the volume dial has enough sensitivity to fine tune.  I paired it with my Fitear 334 which is crazy sensitive and I'm also a low volume listen but still I can adjust the volume to my liking.

Now, whether to get the balanced board or the "upcoming" IEM board has always been a struggle for me.  I was pretty set to get the IEM board from the get go but had been really leaning more to the balanced board now...  but since I already have the AK120 for portable use, I'm also looking at the 901 to pair with full size cans so I'm also now starting to think along the lines of the high powered balanced board.... choices man... choices!!

I'm planning on getting a pair of tralucent 1plus2's soon, I'm also extremely interested in the hm-901, if you have time later, do you think you would be able to do some listening with the 2 and post some impressions? Maybe even compare the the 1+2's on the hm901 vs. your other sources? This would be of great help, thanks!

That's good news!

What's your impression regarding the output impedance? Do you think it's close to zero, more like 10 Ohms or ...?
