Any reason Hifiman has chosen mechanical click-wheel over touch screen?

I don't know, but I see a lot of DX100 users saying that they would have liked it better if it wasn't a touchscreen operated DAP. The upcoming DX50 also has physical buttons and doesn't use Android. Using buttons makes it possible to operate it while still in the pocket. Even iPod Classic still uses physical buttons IIRC.

It was kind of funny.

I will try and find out I find the used of the wheel very easy and straightforward. I am not sure how many cycles it has been tested for.

I'm surprised to see that Discman in such esteemed DAP company. I have several Sony Discmans, including the one in your photograph, and that particular Discman, IMHO, is one of Sony's lazy engineering efforts (cheap, excessively-integrated ICs etc.), when Discmans were on the cusp of being overtaken by the early HDD-based and flash-based mp3 players. D-777 Discman is WAAAY better than that one!

Congrats on getting your hands on an HM-901 at last, though. I hope it brings you much enjoyment.

Hey, AnakChan.

Is that the international HM-901 set?

I don't know. Are there different types? I ordered my HM-901 2 weeks ago and Fujiya had the option of HM-901, HM-901 with standard amp card, HM-901 with highend amp card (this is balanced). What I still don't understand is what's the difference between HM-901 and HM-901 with standard amp card. I hope it's not something silly like the HM-901 with no amp card! No I didn't ask Fujiya as my Japanese is quite immature.
